Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect at my consultation?
The consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll talk through your goals, aims, worries and concerns. I'll explain the different treatment options that may be suitable for you. Then we'll make a plan on how to progress. There is no expectation to book in for treatment straight away.
How should I prepare for my treatment appointment?
1. Please ensure your medical history form is completed and you have informed Dr Nicola of any changes. It is not advisable to have treatment if you are feeling at all unwell.
2. Please have a light meal or snack before your appointment to avoid feeling lightheaded.
3. Please remove make-up before your appointment.
4. For axillary hyperhidrosis treatment (underarm Botox) please wear a sleeveless top and shave no less than 24 hours before. Do not wear deodorant
on the day of your appointment.
5. For polynucleotide or dermal filler treatments do expect some swelling and bruising and plan your social calendar accordingly !
How should I pay for my treatment appointment?
Payment is expected on the day of your treatment. You can pay via cash or bank transfer into my business account. For some treatments (mainly dermal filler), I will require a deposit (but I will inform you of this at your consultation).
What is the aftercare advice?
1. Avoid make up for 24 hours. You can use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser only for the first 24 hours.
2. No vigorous exercise, saunas or steam rooms for the first 24 hours. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun for the first week.
3. No other cosmetic or aesthetic treatments for 2 weeks e.g. microneedling, hydrafacials, massages etc.
4. Dermal filler: do not touch massage or lie on the treated area for the first 2 weeks as during this time the filler remains semi pliable. Bruising and swelling is expected and will improve over the first 4-5 days.
5. Botulinum toxin: results will begin to appear in the first 2-3 days but full results will be apparent by day 14. Some areas will ‘take’ more quickly than others.
6. Polynucleotides: Results will build slowly over the course of three treatments. The ‘blebs’ reduce over the first 12 hours. Bruising improves over 3-4 days.
7. Any concerns regarding abnormal results, pain, swelling, bruising, infection then Dr Nicola is always contactable.
