What is axillary hyperhidrosis?
- Your sweat glands work when they get a message from your body’s nervous system. If they get too many messages, they keep on working and you can sweat excessively. This is called hyperhidrosis. If this happens under your arms, it is called axillary hyperhidrosis.
How can toxin injections help?
-When small doses of botulinum toxin are injected into the skin of the armpits, it blocks the signals from the nervous system that supply the sweat glands. This stops the sweat glands working. The full effect of the injections takes 2 weeks to develop. After this point most people report they stop sweating from their armpits completely. The effects can last between 6-7 months.

How should I prepare for my treatment?
-Please shave your armpits (both men and women) to remove the hair at least 24 hours prior to your treatment. Avoid using deodorant on the day of your appointment and for 2 days after.

Does it hurt?
-The needle used is very tiny and the injections are very superficial meaning they are not too uncomfortable. Numbing cream can also be placed 30 minutes before treatment if you are particularly nervous. The whole process takes around 5 minutes - it is over very quickly.
