What is Botulinum Toxin?

A prescription-only medicine derived from Clostridium botulinum, used to relax targeted muscles. It’s safe, effective and also used medically for migraines and excessive sweating. I use licensed brands including Botox®, Azzalure®, Dysport®, and Bocouture®.


How does it work?

The toxin blocks nerve signals to muscles, softening or stopping
movement. Effects develop over 10–14 days and typically last 3–4 months before gradually wearing off and full muscle movement returns. I will arrange a review appointment for 14 days after your treatment to assess if additional toxin is required to achieve our desired results.

What can it treat?

- Frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet
- Jaw clenching (masseter)
- Underarm sweating
- Jowls / neck lift
- Lip flip or gummy smile

It targets dynamic lines (from expression), but won’t treat static lines (present at rest).

Is it safe?

Yes ,when performed by a qualified medical professional, Botulinum Toxin
carries very low risk. It is a widely tested procedure but studies have never been
performed on those pregnant, breast feeding or trying to conceive. Therefore, I do not
treat people who fall into those aforementioned categories.

Does it hurt?

Most people find the procedure comfortable and are surprised by how
quickly it is over.

How long do results last?

Most results last 3–4 months. Movement may return from 8 weeks. Frequent top-ups (<12 weeks apart) are not advised. If you stop treatment, your natural movement and lines will return.
