How do they work?
- Botulinum toxin is injected into specific muscles, which then stops those muscles from moving. Through doing so it prevents lines and creases from forming and creates a fresh, youthful appearance.
- Most common areas: forehead, frown lines (between the eyebrows) and crow's feet (around the eyes).
- Anti-wrinkle injections cannot remove deep, fixed lines but they can prevent them from getting worse, so prevention really is key.
- Results last between 3-4 months but vary with each individual.
Do they have to be repeated?
- I get asked a lot 'once I start with anti-wrinkle injections, do I have to keep getting them?'. The answer is no! After 3-4 months the effects have fully worn off.
- You can repeat them as often or as little as you like, and each time you're getting a period of 3-4 months when you're preventing lines and wrinkles.
- If you have a special event coming up, treatment 6-8 weeks before can get your skin looking glowing for the event.
